The managerial finance curriculum prepares students for a fast-paced career with unlimited opportunities. Financial managers from The University of Mississippi have become successful market analysts, brokers, corporate planners, and commodity specialists.

Managerial Finance majors must also successfully complete the following required major courses:

FIN 338 - Intermediate Financial Management
FIN 431 - Financial Decision Making
FIN 533 - Securities Analysis and Portfolio Mgmt.

* Choose from 300+ ECON or ACCY course excluding Accy 300 and Accy 411

** Choose from 300+ FIN course excluding FIN 334, FIN 339, and FIN 451

In addition to the above requirements, all Managerial Finance students must complete a total of 7 elective courses. Four of these courses (12 credit hours) must be in non-business subjects, two (6 credit hours) must be in 300 level or above business, management, marketing, finance, MIS, or accountancy subjects that are not required for this major, and one course (3 credit hours) must be either a 300 level or above business, management, marketing, finance, MIS, or accountancy course or a 300 level or above non-business elective.

Note on Prerequisites

 

Many courses have prerequisites for other courses that must be successfully completed prior to enrolling in a particular course. Some of those prerequisites may require a "C" minimum grade in a course to satisfy the prerequisite.
