School hires 6 new sources of inspiration for students

             Dr. Ken Cyree, associate professor and the Frank R. Day/Mississippi Bankers Association Chair of Banking, earned Ph.D. and MBA degrees from the University of Tennessee, and a bachelor’s degree from the State University of West Georgia. He has taught at Bryant College, the University of Southern Mississippi and most recently Texas Tech University. In addition, Cyree worked as national credit manager for a large textile manufacturing company.
   
  Two new professors recently earned Ph.D.s in marketing at the University of Pittsburg:
            Dr. Nitika Garg’s teaching interests include consumer behavior and marketing management. She will be teaching consumer behavior classes.
   
            Dr. Rahul Govind previously served as a consultant to the telecommunications and computer industries. His teaching interests include marketing principles and marketing research. He will be teaching principles of marketing classes.
   
              Tim Heames comes to Ole Miss after a nine-year hiatus from academe, during which he worked with a Microsoft reseller of midrange accounting software. Prior to his “vacation” from teaching, Heames served as associate dean and lecturer in management at the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University, and as associate professor and director of the Executive MBA Program at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. Heames did his graduate work at the Graduate School of Industrial Administration at Carnegie-Mellon, and his primary teaching emphasis throughout his career has been in the areas of strategic planning and information systems. He will be teaching the senior-level capstone course, Management of Strategic Planning. His wife, Joyce Heames, is in her second year as a Ph.D. student in management and teaches undergraduate courses in human resource management.
   
              Dr. N. Neil Southern joins the UM faculty as a clinical assistant professor of marketing. Southern has 27 years of teaching experience at the University of Memphis and many years of additional experience with the United States Army, the Aluminum Company of America and Schering-Plough Corporation. He is the author of Transportation and Logistics Basics and was selected as Transportation Person of the Year by Transportation Clubs International in 2001. Southern received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee and his Ph.D. from Arizona State University.
