OAS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What is OAS?
A: OAS is the School of Business Online Advising System (OAS). OAS is a new online advising program created for the business students that prefer to save time, avoid waiting for an appointment, and interact with academic counselors electronically.
Q: Who can use OAS?
A: All business students can use OAS except students on academic suspension or dismissal.
Q: How do I know my proposed schedule was received?
A: You will receive an automated email once your schedule is received.
Q: How do I get my advisor hold lifted?
A: Your advisor hold will be lifted once your schedule has been approved by an advisor, and you have acknowledged that you agree with the approved schedule by visiting the link in your confirmation email, and clicking “I Agree”. You may also click “Resubmit” if you are not pleased with your schedule. Note: If you are submitting your Summer schedule and are not graduating in May or August you must also submit your Fall schedule to remove your hold.
Q: How will I know if my schedule is approved?
A: You will receive an email once your submission has been approved. You must respond to this email before your schedule is complete by visiting the link in your confirmation email, and clicking “I Agree”. You may also click “Resubmit” if you are not pleased with your schedule.
Q: Who will be approving my schedule?
A: Academic counselors in the School of Business Administration Undergraduate Student Services office.
Q: Can I change what I submitted?
A: Yes, you may submit revisions through OAS by clicking “Choose Different Terms” after your form has been submitted, reenter the changed information, and click 'Resubmit'. You may also login to OAS and resubmit the advising form for your specified advising term.
Q: Can I meet with an advisor?
A: All business students must submit a proposed course selection through OAS. You will be notified if your course selection is approved or if an advising appointment is necessary. Please remember that this is not a completely automated process and does require advisors to review your submission - your application is processed in the order that it was submitted.
April 6th is the last day of priority advising and registration. During the priority advising/registration period, advisors will be reviewing OAS submissions. After April 6, advisors will meet with students to discuss their academic program only after the student has submitted an initial course selection through OAS.
