Fundamental Management Skills
This instruction is designed to benefit the following managers at the following experience levels:
- Employees who have been identified for promotion to managerial or supervisory positions through an organization’s career development program.
- Employees who have been recently promoted to a management position, those with less than one year's experience.
- Employees who have been recently appointed as project or team leaders.
- More experienced managers who have little or no formal management training
Fundamental Management Skills seminars are are four-hour blocks of instruction which cover the following management knowledge areas:

Legal Environment for Supervisors The Importance of Reducing Employer Exposure to Litigation, Laws and Regulations Affecting First-Level Supervisors, Importance of Equitable and Consistent Practices, Documenting Employee Actions, Understanding Employee Rights and Responsibilities
Motivating Employees The Application of Theories of Motivation, Motivational Strategies, Organizational Goals and Objectives that Motivate, Role of Praise and Reprimand in Motivation, Motivation Skills Assessment, Models and Techniques to Increase Motivation, Practices that Erode Employee Morale and Motivation.
