MGA is seeking a Production Underwriting Manager for its Jackson, MS area office. 

The successful candidate will work with two successful established programs, offering GL, Auto, Property and Umbrella coverage to qualified risks, to increase production in an open broker environment. 

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

Review submissions and qualify accounts.

Pricing the accounts and referral to company for approval if required.

Quote and help sell account to producer.

Develop and maintain good working relationships with brokers and carrier.

Maintain underwriting and workflow procedures.

 

 

Qualifications

 

The successful candidate should possess the following qualities:

 

Minimum of 5 years underwriting experience with an MGA.

Strong technical knowledge of P&C products.

Effective communication skills:  Oral, written and presentational.

Basic MS Excel, Word and Outlook abilities.

Good organizational skills and able to prioritize work to meet due dates.

Ability to effectively delegate work.

Degree and professional designations strong pluses.
