Biographical Sketch

Dr. Andre Liebenberg is the Liberto-King Assistant Professor of Finance at Ole Miss. He joined the faculty in the Fall of 2006, having previously served on the faculty at Old Dominion University. Andre received a PhD from the University of Georgia and Master’s and Undergraduate degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa. Before coming to the US to pursue a PhD, Andre taught insurance for five years at Wits University while working as a consultant to a major international reinsurer. Andre is an active member of the American Risk and Insurance Association and the Southern Risk and Insurance Association. His research interests include insurer financial performance, enterprise risk management, and personal retirement planning. Andre teaches corporate risk management, commercial property insurance, and insurance principles. He also serves as faculty advisor to the Insurance and Risk Management Society. Andre’s wife, Dr. Ivonne Moya, is also on the finance faculty and teaches at the Southaven and Tupelo campuses.
