Computer Requirements for Business Students
MIS Majors:
Undergraduate MIS majors are required to have a notebook computer that is in good working condition and with sufficient processing power and memory to run current versions of Microsoft Office and other graphics-intensive and processing-intensive software. This computer should be a PC and not a Mac. It must have wireless Internet access.
Other Undergraduate Students:
All other undergraduate business majors are strongly encouraged, but not required, to have a personal computer of some sort that is capable of running current versions of Microsoft Office. Since all of the Conner/Holman complex and most of the campus has wireless Internet access, a notebook computer is likely to be the best choice for most students.
MBA Students:
All MBA students are required to have a notebook computer with sufficient processing power and memory to run current versions of Microsoft Office. The computer should have wireless Iinternet access capability and be a PC rather than a Mac. MBA students will use this computer constantly and downtime will be a serious problem. Therefore, the computer should be covered with a good on-site service contract that includes the Oxford area.
Doctoral Students:
Business doctoral are required to have a personal computer with sufficient processing power and memory to run current versions of Microsoft Office. Students may elect to have a desktop computer, although a notebook computer is recommended. The computer should have wireless Internet access capability and be a PC rather than a Mac. Doctoral students will use this computer constantly, and downtime will be a serious problem. Therefore, the computer should be covered with a good on-site service contract that includes the Oxford area.
