Admission

The admission requirements listed below are the minimum required for consideration for admission. Meeting all of these requirements does not guarantee admission. Admission is competitive with limited space available. To be considered for admission, applicants must:

• Hold a bachelor's degree in any field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Have a GPA in excess of 3.0 on the most recent 60 semester hours of course work.
• Complete the course equivalents of Principles of Accounting I and Business Finance I with a grade of "C" or better. These courses can be completed as part of an undergraduate program or can be taken after earning an undergraduate degree at any accredited institution.
• Submit an official GMAT score that indicates sufficient preparation for a rigorous graduate business program. 550+ score is preferred.
• Submit an official TOEFL score of at least 600 (international student only).
• Submit two acceptable letters of recommendation. No specific form is required, but letters should address academic accomplishments, intellectual abilities, and relevant experience when possible.
• Submit a current résumé.
• Submit a statement of purpose. (See below)
• Work experience is desirable, but not required.

These admission requirements are subject to change without notice.

Statement of Purpose

Often the résumé, transcripts, and GMAT scores fail to capture important characteristics that the individual offers for the program. The Statement of Purpose is a short essay in which an applicant reflects on contribution that the MBA degree will make to the applicant’s future success and the special characteristics that the applicant brings to the MBA program. We are interested in value-added experiences, both from the program to the student and from the individual student to the program. The typed Statement of Purpose (about 400 words) should address the following questions: (1) Why have you chosen to pursue the MBA? (2) How will these studies help you attain your career goals?

Application Deadlines

Please note that the program is designed to begin in the summer term, however it is possible to enter in the fall and the spring. To be considered for admission for one of the three possible entry points, a completed application package (including official GMAT and TOEFL scores and all transcripts) must be received by the following deadlines:

Summer Admission (starting in late May): April 15
Fall Admission (starting in August): July 1
Spring Admission (starting in January): November 1

Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis and we do encourage students to apply earlier than the stated deadlines. Ideally summer candidates should apply in January and Febuary. Applications received or completed after these deadlines will be considered for the next admission date.

Notebook Computers

All students are required to have a notebook computer when they begin the MBA program. A personal printer is also very helpful, but not required. Printing services are provided for MBA students in the MBA classroom. Both wired and wireless network access is available. No particular computer or configuration is required, but the computer should be up-to-date and able to run the most current version of Microsoft Office, which is also required. Students should assure themselves that service and support will be available from the vendor, as any downtime will be detrimental to class performance.
