The Opportunities

Speaker's Edge
One of our newest and most exciting programs is the Speaker’s Edge Competition. This special two-day intensive class provides students with an unparalleled opportunity to enhance their abilities and learn to adapt their messages to different audiences in front of world class communication coaches in a competitive environment. The competition is based on three key events: Ethical Dilemmas, Marketplace Pitch, and Informative Communication. Students discover the secrets of high-impact public speaking and learn the strenghts and weaknesses of their own personal speaking style to become the best speakers they can be.
Distinguished Speaker Series
In a typical year, more than 100 guest speakers come to the Ole Miss Business School to share their experiences and insights with our students. Many are successful business executives and entrepreneurs, and others are nationally prominent academics with a wide range of expertise that covers all of the business disciplines. Many of these guests are invited specifically for the MBA Program, but MBA students are welcome to attend any or all of the events invoving these speakers. This year, our MBA guest speakers have included:
Bill Jordan: President of Realtree in Columbus, GA (pictured)
Rocky Prior: President, Southern Diversified Products, in Hattiesburg, MS
Melanie Dowell: Senior Vice President of Wealth Management at Citi Smith Barney in Jackson, Mississippi.
John Cassimus: Founder of Zoës Kitchen and Maki Fresh in Birmingham, Alabama.
