Admission Requirements

Applicants to the Professional MBA program are evaluated based on their academic qualifications, GMAT or GRE score, work experience and other personal attributes. Minimum requirements for admission in full standing include completion of an undergraduate program in an accredited U.S. college or its international equivalent with an acceptable GPA in the last 60 semester hours of academic course work (3.0+); a GMAT score that indicates proficiency for graduate business study (550+) or the equivalent GRE score; two acceptable letters of recommendation; one Intro to Accounting and one Business Finance course, prior to enrolling; and two years of professional experience. A TOEFL score of at least 600 is required for international applicants whose native language is not English.

Admissions Process

Students may begin the Professional MBA in the Spring Semester, Summer Session or Fall Semester. The deadlines by which all application materials (including undergraduate transcripts and GMAT score) should be received are:

Fall Semester (Starting in August): July 1
Spring Semester (Starting in January): November 1
Summer Session (Starting in June): April 1

The Professional MBA program has a rolling admission process, which means that applications are evaluated in the order they are complete. Therefore, it is to your advantage to submit your completed application as early as possible before the application deadlines.

Computer Requirements

All MBA students are required to have a notebook computer with sufficient processing power and memory to run current versions of Microsoft Office. The computer should have high speed internet access capability and be a PC. You can use a Mac with the IWork software (the Microsoft Office for MAC’s) if you have the ability to do the excel, PowerPoint, and Word work required for the program. MBA students will use this computer constantly and downtime will be a serious problem. The University of Mississippi and/or the School of Business Administration do not provide hardware service or support for any student-owned computer. All hardware/software service and support is the sole responsibility of the vendor.

PMBA students will need a quality headset with a microphone for Wimba meetings.
