The School of Business Administration is committed to meeting the needs of all students. In order to meet the needs of non-traditional students, classes are offered in Tupelo at The University of Mississippi Advanced Education Center and in Southaven the DeSoto Center. Classes are taught at these branch campuses either by resident full-time faculty or by Oxford campus faculty who commute to the branch campuses or conduct the classes using distance learning (videoconferencing) technology.
Southaven - DeSoto Center
The unique affiliation of The University of Mississippi with Northwest Mississippi Community College (NWCC) at the De Soto Center provides the ideal mix of academic and technical training for the development of DeSoto County. NWCC, the owner of the DeSoto Center, built the campus to provide educational opportunities for traditional daytime students as well as evening students who want to earn college credit while working or meeting family commitments. Undergraduate courses are taught by The University of Mississippi at the junior and senior level, complementing freshman and sophomore courses offered by NWCC. This partnership between NWCC and The University of Mississippi allows students to complete an entire Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree at the Southaven branch campus. For more information, visit the Desoto Center’s website at www.olemiss.edu/southaven.
Tupelo - Advanced Education Center
The educational needs of hundreds of Northeastern Mississippi residents are met each year at the University’s Tupelo campus. Over the last 30 years, this program has grown from a handful of courses taught in four rooms of a downtown office building to the now more than 80 courses offered each semester in the new and spacious Advanced Education Center. Courses taught at the Tupelo campus are selected, as much as possible, to meet the needs of students wanting to earn college credit while maintaining full-time employment or meeting family commitments. In partnership with Itawamba Community College, students can complete all requirements for a BBA degree in Tupelo. For more information, please visit www.olemiss.edu/tupelo.
